The National American Legion Press Association (NALPA) is an organization of newsletter editors, writers, historians, public relations officers and communications volunteers of The American Legion family and subsidiary organizations.
NALPA encourages the exchange of ideas; promotes the development of local newsletters and public relations activities; strives to communicate the corporate goals of The American Legion family organizations and recognizes achievement through an annual newsletter and newspaper awards program. NALPA has been working to facilitate this communication at all levels of The American Legion family for more than 75 years.
Today, the fastest growing posts, units and squadrons within The American Legion family all have a successful newsletter to communicate with their members. Leaders within The American Legion family today recognize and accept the fact that the majority of the members never make it to the post home. A newsletter is the best, most cost-effective, tool to keep non-active members informed. And, by keeping them informed you never know when an activity will spark their interest and you’ll have a more active member.
Members of NALPA receive a monthly newsletter and are entitled to discount subscriptions to The American Legion Dispatch and The American Legion Magazine for just $6.00 each per year. Just be sure to state that you are a NALPA member at the time of your order. Your check should be made payable to DISPATCH/MAGAZINE and NOT included as a part of your NALPA dues.
The NALPA membership year is from September 1 through August 31 each year. Annual dues are just $10.
Join today and become an active member of The American Legion family communications team. The National American Legion Press Association (NALPA) strives to assist you in shaping a “Positive Image” of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of The American Legion.
Reminders: 1) Be sure to include Legion/SAL/Auxiliary membership number on the application when joining NALPA. This keeps from having duplicates in the system for the same individual. 2) Please mark if the member is NEW or RENEWAL. 3) Do not send CASH through the mail - it will be returned! 4) Do NOT include the $6.00 DISPATCH subscription money on the same check as NALPA dues. Two separate checks are required. |
